So, the WiiU has finally been released! Anyone play it yet? Anyone  OWN one yet?

They just had a demo console put in my local wal-mart yesterday, but I only got the chance to hold the controller and mess with it for a few seconds. I remember a while back that some critics said it was awkward to hold but it felt very comfortable and natural to me.

I have to agree. It's almost shocking how little buzz there is around the whole release tbh and it's kinda disappointing. There was way more hype last year during E3. The whole launch came and went and not a single thing to hear about it.

Everyone I have talked to who have seen a tiny little mention about the WiiU think its just a portable wii. No joke. This is what I always thought would be the problem, they needed a different name.

Looks like we have to wait God knows how many years until a good console launch. Not that i'm not still excited for the WiiU, it's just that an awesome launch day makes a console release so much more exciting.

Honestly, console gaming is dead. Its hardware is several generations behind pc hardware, its software is lackluster and repetitive (not to mention constant rehashes and rereleases) and now this big slap in the face.

Face it, its over.

Sony and Microsoft still have to make their move. Nintendo hasn't really been good since the N64 console wise.

This doesn't just apply to Nintendo. Sony and Microsh*t are still at fault. Just look at the PS3 and 360. Two great examples of what is plaguing gaming.

Guys, stop complaining about it. I have one, and guess what? It is amazing. And I'm not just saying that.

The gamepad is a revolution itself, all of the small things, from interface, ease of use, and, of course, gameplay, are improved and innovated so much with this.
Nintendoland is easily the most fun I've had with a video game for YEARS.
Miiverse is simply the direction online gaming needs to go in the future... it IS the future. It's amazing. There's no way I'm buying ANY third party game for 360, pc, or PS3 if it is also coming on Wii U, all because of Miiverse (and the gamepad).

Seriously, this is a revolution and I highly HIGHLY recommend it. I can't wait to play more. So surprised that Nintendo even made a system as awesome and capable like this. WOW!

Thats not supposed to be offensive gumby, you just never really say anything negative about Nintendo and you tend to go over the top with praise for their games. Which is what i do with Halo and Call of Duty.

Back a little on topic, I really don't see how this thing is too revolutionary. Sure, its trying something new, but its not renventing the wheel or anything.

I'll consider picking one up if a new Metroid or Zelda game comes out. But until then, I cannot justify $350 for this.
