Have you seen some of the TV commercials? I've only seen them online. Kinda of weird how advertising is almost nonexistent so close to launch...

I haven't seen a single commercial period. Not on TV, and not on the internet.
Then again I have adblock on so I don't usually see ads.

The ONLY commercial I have seen was on the nintendo wii u facebook page. The lack of advertisement is odd.

Its like they're trying to make the thing a complete market failure. Just look at Conduit 2. It had the same problem, little to no advertising which led to p*sspoor sales.

They also need advertisement prelaunch especially for the wii u. Because i believe it will confuse the casual audience into thinking its just a wii add on.

The WiiU needs to get the information out NOW and clear up the confusion. Unless the casual audience isn't as stupid as I think. Who knows, this will be interesting though.

I have a feeling their going to push the release date back. On the other hand, the specs have been out for a while and preorders began a long time ago.

I've been seeing 1 commercial on t.v. floating around, but it's not specifically of the Wii U. McDonald's commercial (I think, maybe it's BK) advertising that they have Mario toys and it mentions the Wii U in the commecial. That's all i've seen. TBH I completely forgot about it was coming out until I saw that commercial the other day despite how excited I am for it. That's not a good sign.

I don't think people should be worried if the name was completely different and didn't involve the name Wii. But since it has the name Wii in it and the console design looks similar to a Wii it might confuse consumers without commercials before launch describing that its a completely new system and not an add on.
